Every powerful movement begins with a single voice. For Mothers Helping Hands Atlanta, that voice is Rosalee Henry, a certified postpartum doula, newborn care specialist, and maternal health advocate whose work has transformed family support services across Atlanta and beyond.
This year marks a remarkable milestone: 13 years of postpartum care, advocacy, and impact. Since 2012, Mothers Helping Hands Atlanta has been a trusted source of postpartum support in Atlanta, bridging the gap between hospital discharge and confident parenthood.
How Rosalee Henry’s Journey Began

When I look back over the last 13 years, I feel humbled and grateful. What started as my personal calling has grown into something much larger: a trusted community of postpartum and newborn care for families across Atlanta and beyond.
I didn’t begin in maternal health. I actually started in banking. But when I shifted into childcare as a nanny, I quickly saw how unprepared many families felt after bringing their newborns home. The joy was there, but so was the exhaustion, uncertainty, and sometimes even loneliness.
That realization planted the seed for Mothers Helping Hands Atlanta. Since 2012, my mission has been simple: to make sure no parent feels like they have to navigate those fragile weeks of postpartum recovery and newborn care alone.
Supporting Families Through Postpartum and Newborn Care

Over the years, Mothers Helping Hands Atlanta has become a trusted source for:
- Postpartum Support – hands-on and emotional care for new parents
- NICU Navigation – guidance for families with babies in intensive care
- Lactation Support – breastfeeding education and encouragement
- Maternal Mental Health Check-ins – screenings and referrals for emotional well-being
- Flexible In-home and Virtual Care – meeting families exactly where they are
Through programs like Grady Memorial Hospital’s Pathway to Partnership, I’ve also had the opportunity to advocate for equitable maternal health care in Atlanta and beyond.
Giving Families Resources That Truly Help

Not every parent has access to in-person postpartum care, which is why I created resources that can travel beyond Atlanta. One I’m especially proud of is our Free Guide to Postpartum Care. It’s filled with encouragement and evidence-based tips to help parents feel prepared and supported in the early weeks with their newborn.
If you’d like a copy, you can download it here: Free Guide to Postpartum Care. It’s my way of making sure no mother, baby, or caregiver ever feels like they’re navigating this journey alone.
Expanding Care Beyond Postpartum

My own caregiving journey also led me to expand beyond newborn and maternal support. Inspired by caring for my mother during cancer treatment, I founded Mothers Helping Hands Homecare, serving seniors, post-operative patients, and families in need of respite or 24-hour care.
I also launched Red Rose VA Staffing, which helps healthcare organizations reduce burnout, and created the CareConnect Partnership Program, designed to give doulas and maternal health providers the training and backend systems they need to thrive.
Along the way, I founded RosaleeCares.org, a nonprofit dedicated to providing free postpartum care packages, emergency doula support, workforce re-entry training, and mentorship for caregivers.
A Legacy of Care and Community

This work has been recognized on platforms like TLC, NBC, and VoyageATL, and I’ve been honored twice as one of ATL+ Magazine’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Atlanta. But recognition isn’t what drives me. What matters most are the families who feel supported, the parents who gain confidence, and the communities that grow stronger when caregivers are cared for too.

As Mothers Helping Hands Atlanta celebrates 13 years of postpartum support and newborn care in Atlanta, I want to thank every parent, doula, caregiver, and supporter who has been part of this journey. Together, we’ve built something bigger than any one of us.
Thirteen years in, my heart is still in the same place: serving families with compassion, dignity, and care. I cannot wait to see how we continue to grow together in the years ahead.
With love and gratitude,
Rosalee Henry
